WorldSkills International Competition 2022 Special edition.

WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition (WSC2022SE) host countries and dates announced.

On 31 May, an announcement was made by WorldSkills International on the cancellation of WorldSkills Shanghai due to the Covid-19 pandemic. WorldSkills Shanghai competition was due to take place in October 2022. WorldSkills International and its Members and Global Partners immediately began planning alternative opportunities for the Competitors preparing for WorldSkills Competition 2022. As a result, 15 member countries and regions will host the individual skill competitions, officially replacing China, Shanghai as the host for the 2022 WorldSkills International Competition. The WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition will see over 1,100 competitors from 57 countries and regions participate in 61 skill competitions which will be held over 12 weeks between 7 September and 26 November 2022. WorldSkills South Africa (WSZA) will participate in 29 different skills which will be hosted in 9 different countries.

The skills, dates and nine countries to which South Africa will travel for participation at the WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition are as follows:
